In Barcelona, as in the rest of Catalonia, the sales start on 7th January and finish on 6th March, offering discounts of up to 80% and confirming the city’s fame as the shopping capital of Europe.
Although the liberalisation of the Spanish law that governs the seasonal sales periods has meant that stores can now offer their customers discounts all year round, Catalan shopkeepers are hoping that this year’s sales will be even better than 2016’s record figures.
The Spanish Confederation of Commerce has forecast that this winter sales will offer discounts of between 30 and 50% throughout the whole of the sales period, and this could reach as high as 80% during the final days.
Whether you prefer to shop in the malls or stroll among the city centre boutiques, shopping in Barcelona is not just a first class tourist attraction but a total experience that combines culture, art and shopping. The city is full of top brand names and designer stores as well as local boutiques, making it the perfect shopping destination.
